A delightful little ramen restaurant featuring a beautiful Japanese-style wood interior. There is seating for about 15 pairs of diners, one slightly longer table, and a few outdoor tables as well. The food is fantastic. The menu offers around three or four dishes at a time—options include vegetarian, spicy, and meat-based varieties—which can be paired with Japanese beer or sake if desired. Prices range from $20 to $30 per dish. Anyone who loves Japanese udon soup will be more than satisfied here—a fact attested to by the many Asian patrons.

After several great meals in San Francisco, this was one of the surprises of the trip. The ramen was outstanding from the first bite to the last, with a rich, flavorful broth, fresh noodles, and quality toppings that all came together perfectly. The star of the bowl was the poached egg. I’ve eaten a lot of eggs over the years, and this was hands down the best poached egg I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked with an unbelievably creamy yolk that made every bite even better. The atmosphere was upbeat and energetic without feeling rushed, and the service matched the food—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. If you’re staying near Union Square and craving ramen, this is an easy recommendation. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in San Francisco.

We found this small popular lively ramen shop when we arrived to San Francisco in the evening. We tried their unique clam ramen and karage. The ramen was fresh and the clam broth was light and flavorful with a refreshing beer. It was a perfect meal after a long trip. Please use the machine in front of the door to join the waitlist. Waiting on line without joining it would not get you into the que.

Paloma was a great server and provided excellent service. She checked on us so much, each time she came I had food in my mouth and couldn’t speak lol. The ramen was very good especially with this SF weather. I definitely recommend the gyoza and chicken karaage

This ramen shop is located right near Union Square, in a bustling area with high foot traffic. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Outdoor area may be a little noisy (central location). Vegetarian ramen options included! The prices are very reasonable, staying on par with shops in other neighborhoods. I was honestly shocked to learn that this place has been around since 1885. It is one of the most impressive ramen spots my family and I have ever visited in terms of flavor. My Aunt—an older Asian laddy who is quite particular about her food—really enjoyed her meal here, which says a lot. The broth is packed with umami and perfectly seasoned. Out of all the places I've been, this ramen is hands-down my favorit The staff are incredibly sweet and friendly. On the day of our visit, we were welcomed by a lovely girl from the Philippines. We will definitely be coming back soon!
